Panel Discussion

  • What does the future look like for SBLs?
  • How will the profession develop?
  • What impact will this have on pay and conditions?

Our panel will set out their vision of the future from three different perspectives.

Delegates will attend three exciting workshops as follows:

Workshop 1 - How to paint an impactful financial picture The education workplace is very much a mixed bag of skills. Whatever type of setting you work in, and whether you are reporting to a trust board, a finance committee, or to educators with little or no finance background, this workshop offers great ideas on what information you need to prepare and how to present this information to all different types of audience.  Wow them, inform them and help them fully understand the importance of a strong symbiotic relationship between the business and education arms of the organisation.

Workshop 2 - Successful project planning in education SBLs find themselves responsible for many different projects of different sizes, deadlines and disciplines (all at the same time!). In this workshop you can look at effective managerial project tools that can help you prepare, monitor and share workload with others whilst maintaining control and maintaining your sanity!
Workshop 3 - Investing in yourself
Too often as an SBL you put your own professional development and wellbeing last on a very long to do list.  This workshop discusses the importance of your own career progression, how to successfully negotiate your role, including pay, terms and conditions.  How to strive for equal recognition on the senior leadership team and how work-life balance is pivotal for your long-term wellbeing.
